Abstract
The demands placed on leaders in the academic system have fundamentally changed. While research performance and reputation were once the key qualifications for leadership in science, modern expectations include personnel management, development, conflict resolution, and diversity sensitivity. These qualities are now indispensable for ensuring excellence in all areas of research institutions. In this workshop, we will discuss: 1. **What is gender- and diversity-sensitive leadership in academia?** - Forms of leadership in terms of gender and diversity (G&D) - Leadership tasks and questions regarding G&D 2. **(Un)equal structures: The academic system under the microscope** - Implicit gender stereotypes and biases in research and science, and their effects - Gendered requirements of leadership in academia 3. **How toβ¦** - Hands-on approaches to specific leadership situations regarding G&D
